HTC Butterfly is finally launched in Indian market at Rs 45990. It’s the first full HD smartphone in Indian soil equipped with some of the best hardware components. Quad core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro is the heart of this device. For ultra-fast multitasking it’s supplied 2 GB RAM. It’s also the first smartphone in India to get 2 GB RAM. Previously, US and Korea variants of Galaxy S3 got 2 GB RAM but the Indian or rather international version was launched with 1 GB RAM.
However, HTC Butterfly is the first smartphone to get everything together. It sports 5 inch full HD Super LCD 3 Capacitive touch screen with full HD 1080×1920 pixels resolution at 441 ppi. Although it may not sound too impressive to you as you already seen a bunch of full HD smartphones in CES. But it’s the first to set the trend. Basically, it’s a refurbished HTC J Butterfly that was first introduced in NTT DOCOMO Japan.

Later on it was introduced as HTC Droid DNA to Verizon Wireless USA. Now it’s coming to India. It has been awarded as the best smartphone of 2012 despite of the release of iPhone 5, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
Like other high-end HTC smartphones it looks impressive and sturdy. Powered by Android 4.1 JellyBean HTC Butterfly is built on HTC sense v4.0+ UI. Corning Gorilla 2 coating on display surface protects the display from external scratches. It sports 8 MP rear camera with dedicated HTC image chip. Aperture size is f/2.0 which is quite brilliant. Camera records full HD 1080p video. It’s the same camera unit that is used in HTC 8X. Li-Po 2020 mAh battery delivers long hours of usage.
