Disadvantages of Micromax A110 Canvas 2
Well, in the list of disadvantages there is not too much to figure out. Yes, RAM is less, multitasking is not as fast you can expect. But you can run many HD games in it. Thanks to the dual core processor and PowerVR SGX531T GPU. Bigger display is advantageous when you play games or watch movies in it. Web browsing is a treat. But the bigger dimension is disadvantageous when you carry it or try to hold in one hand. This completely depends on the way you think about it. In day light shooting is impressive but in low light camera is a big disappointment. Though the camera is aided by dual LED flash this is not the powerful one out there in market. I agree, it’s a low cost handset. You have to compromise to some extent.

Possibly it’s not Qualcomm Snapdragon S3. Dual Scorpion cores are clocked at 1.2-1.5 GHz in APQ8060, MSM8260 and MSM8660 in all 3 Snapdragon S3 SoCs. But Micromax A110 canvas 2 is running cores that are clocked at 1 GHz. So, Snapdragon S4 Play is in the cards. It can run Qualcomm MSM8225 or MSM8625 but in both occasion it must couple 2 Cortex A5 cores. Possibly, A110 is running 2 Cortex A9 cores. No way Krait cores are used in this Canvas 2. No other Snapdragon S4 cores can be used here.
Since Canvas 2 features Cortex A9 cores it must be MediaTek MT6577.
Additionally, at the time of release MediaTek announced MT6577 is best suitable for sub-$200 handsets. According to the MediaTek PR Micromax, Spice are two Indian companies have started working on the SoC right from beginning. Spice Mi-500 is marketed with MT6577. Now Micromax is left. Within tight budget MT6577 is the best SoC that can offer up to 8 MP camera, front camera, 720p HD display etc.
I have concluded Micromax A110 is running MediaTek MT6577 after reviewing all these statements. Nothing else! I can’t guarantee but it may.

Yah you can trust the brand. It has been around for some time and delivered number of affordable smartphones. Canvas 2 resembles Galaxy Note 2 which costs around 39k which is way above normal affordability. You can experience similar feeling (not exactly but to some extent it’s true) in Canvas 2 by paying one fourth of that price. Sound quality is good and loud, better in headset. You can buy it.

I would prefer to go with Canvas 2 as it has updated hardware and bigger display. The only advantage of Galaxy Ace is it comes from the house of Samsung and sounds more reliable than Micromax. But if you consider specs Canvas 2 is way better. The only down side of Canvas 2 is poor battery backup. You can expect 3-4 hrs max usage.
I am a bit suspicious about the sensors present on board. Does this phone support compass applications, as I am not sure about the presence of a magnetometer in the device. It would be great if you can confirm it and let me know. Thanks.
@Abhishek you are right. No magnetometer sensor is there in MMX A110. It even lacks ambient light sensor which should have been there.

I would recommend MMX A100. It has better SoC, camera, display, battery as compared to Sony Xperia Tipo Dual. 512 MB RAM, 2.5 GB storage is there in both handsets. Tipo Dual lacks front camera that is present in X110. Price is pretty much the same. Go got MMX A110.

It looks like a problem of your handset. You may try to install the ROM once again. Otherwise, try to contact customer support. I can play 480p,360p video smoothly both in MX Player and Stock Player. Therefore, I can’t tell you it’s a problem with every MMX A110 handset. As I said earlier 720p HD video is not played smoothly.

@Santosh in recent past Micromax has delivered some good pieces of smartphone at tight budget. You can trust the brand as each of their smartphones have been sold in handsome numbers. MMX A110 follows the trend. Just imagine MAX A110 is priced Rs. 9999/- whereas Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is tagged Rs. 39000 which is way above affordability of many people like me or you. It’s regardless to compare Note 2 with MMX Canvas 2 as there are so many differences. Therefore, we have to rely on brands like Micromax or Karbonn etc to experience something out of the box.
Durability is good of these handsets. Micromax has service centers all over India. Electronic goods, be it Samsung or Micromax can experience hardware or software issues. Only thing we must take into account whether there are service centers or not. It’s my personal opinion. Not necessary you think in that way.

Unfortunately Vijay I do not know any such offer where you can exchange your A100 with A110. Spec wise A110 is better than A100.

No problem if you keep installed files in phone memory. As you can see these handsets leave around 2.5 GB of free phone memory for installing apps. Now if you install a 2 GB game only 500 MB is free for additional usage. It’s all about memory management. On the other hand, memory can be increased up to 32 GB which is way to high. You can also replace cards like what you do in case of DVD/CDs (if you prefer doing that) of course.

No dedicated sound enhancements like Beats Audio or xLOUD audio enhancement in used here in MMX A110. Overall, music quality satisfactory.Not brilliant to be honest.

Wi-Fi normally drain battery life earlier than usual. You can expect around 5-7 hrs of usage with Wi-Fi on. Wi-Fi + Music may not last for more than 4-5 hrs.

I’d suggest Micromax A110. Display of A101 is 0.2 inch bigger than A110. But camera quality is down-graded to 5 MP, resolution is also WVGA 480×800 px. Rest of the features are pretty similar. Go for MMX A110 if you like it.

@Ayush you can expect 5-7 hrs of talk time in 2G network and around 7 days of standby time. Do not worry, minimum usage backup is not bad at all. You do not need to charge it everyday.

@Sumit Between Micromax A110 and A90S the second one is better as it’s more compact. Both feature similar type of hardware apart from display. Canvas 2 is quite difficult to hold in one hand just because of it’s awkward size. Camera shooting is difficult. On the other hand, AMOLED display of A90S is better than MMX A110. Also smaller size dimension ensures easy handling. If you are a big fan of wide display smartphones you must reach out for A110 instead of A90S. Coming back to Micromax A110, yes, it’s a good bargain at around 10k. This phone sports huge 5 inch display which makes it difficult to hold in one hand. Even if you think of shooting using phone camera you may feel bit awkward just because of it’s mega dimension. Still you can buy it if you think it’s dimension is okay with you. Gaming or watching movies are impressive. No dedicated camera button is there. Camera quality is quite brilliant in day light. Low light shooting is not as impressive as I expected although dual LED flash is there. Therefore, I would suggest Micromax A90S which is lot more compact and having similar specs. Additionally, it’s 4.3 inch AMOLED display is better than IPS LCD display of MMX A110 although it supports 256k colors opposite to 16 million color of MMX A110. Yes, you can backup/restore contacts to or from the sd card to the handset. Open Contacts > Menu > Import / Export contacts file from the sd card to the handset. The stored file is normally in .vcf format.
In Micromax A110 you an use this feature as well.
One more thing Arun you can do is install apps something like Super Backup : SMS & Contacts to move contacts to sd card. Otherwise, the above way will help you doing.
@Arun frankly speaking, camera is not what we can expect from a 8 MP one. Day light capturing is quite good but low light shooting is pathetic. Dual LED flash are there but these are not as good as other high end phones get. Overall, for a 10k handset camera is good. I do not think it’s too wise to expect BSI sensor camera in that budget.
The handset supports 32 GB micro SD card support. You can store and watch plenty of movies. Giant screen is excellent for watching movies. HD movies 720p can be seen without hassles.
Display resolution is WVGA, 480×800 px, quite handy. Sun-light visibility is poor. Viewing angles are not too narrow. You can comfortably watch movies in it.
Speaker sound is not so impressive but headphone sound is. There are several other settings like 3D sound etc are there when you plugin the headset. Adjust everything to get what you are looking for.
Well, look MMX A90S vs A110 are close to each other in terms of hardware being used. But I would prefer compact A90S over A110. Apart from display size and display type nothing to separate the duos. @Arun, have you checked out Zopo ZP900 Leader? It looks powerful. Isn’t it? I GB RAM is there along with dual core processor. It’s MediaTek MT6577 SoC that is being used in Micromax A110, A90S. But RAM is bumped to 1 GB. It also features qHD 540×960 pixels resolution whereas both MMX A110, A90S sports WVGA 480×800 pixels resolution. Currently, no other handset with 1 GB RAM is available in Indian market. If you consider 768 MB RAM you must consider Samsung Galaxy S Advance. It’s the mini version of Galaxy S2. Quite a brilliant handset. Audio quality is best in HTC handsets as these are powered by Beats Audio. But I do not think there is any good model out there with dual core processor, at least 768 MB RAM for less than 20k. Desire SV is priced Rs. 22k. It’s good one but exceeding your budget.
Though Sony Xperia Sola comes with 512 MB RAM performance wise it’s also a good choice. It’s a IP67 certified dust and water proof handset. Sony patented xLOUD Audio Filtering is there along with surround sound. Yes, it’s powered by dual core SoC.
Arun one more thing, you will not get a branded phone with 8 MP camera in less than 20k. Do not worry if it’s a 5 MP one. You must consider HTC Desire SV that is priced Rs. 22,590. It sports 8 MP camera, Jellybean OS, dual core processor, 768 MB RAM, Beats Audio Sound, dual sim support, 4.3 inch Super LCD 2 WVGA display.

1. In less than 20k price tag there is smartphone model with a 8 MP shooter (with around F2.0-F2.2 Aperture). HTC Desire SV equips best camera in this segment. Also Beats Audio Sound Enhancement powered this handset delivers best music experience. Dual core processor, 768 MB RAM, ICS OS with JellyBean upgrade (coming soon) seems to be the best choice. It’s also a dual sim handset. I had given choices as it was exceeding your budget my a slight margin.
2. Other handsets i.e. Samsung Galaxy S Advance, HTC Desire V (dual SIM), Sony Xperia Sola all supports 5 MP camera instead of 8. Camera quality is good but mot best. Rest of the features are pretty much same.

Ya, Galaxy S3 is a master piece. Well, 1 GB RAM is there. What are the applications you are running? In 512 MB RAM we see plenty of MB free is RAM always. You can pick and close apps from the Apps. Go to settings and under Device you will get the option where you will see the apps running. Close unwanted apps. Have you upgraded your S3 to JellyBean? It’s an official upgrade over-the-air.

@Kishan MMX A110 must not be compared with Samsung Galaxy S Advance. If you can fund extra 3k as you have said (new S Advance costs 19k) you must opt for S Advance. But if you prefer dual sim functionality and larger display you may consider A110. S Advance is basically Galaxy S2 Mini. It’s a superb model. It’s getting JellyBean in January.

Can you please tell me if there is seriously that much of a battery back up problem with A110? Because many of my friends have been discouraging me from buying this phone just because of it’s 180h battery stand by time. I don’t have that much of budget and this awesome phone has caught my eye.

@Hardik look battery is not a strength of this handset. You can expect 2-3 days with minimum usage. It completely depends on your usage. If you play games continuously for 4-5 hrs battery will be down for sure. Same thing for web browsing and video playback. Music play back is better. Not too impressive battery.

Yes, the SoC is MediaTek MT6577 with two 1 GHz Clocked Cortex A9 application processors and PowerVR SGX531T GPU.I do not know why this is happening to you. Two CPU cores are there.

I am still not sure whether there will be a JellyBean roll-out or not. Micromax executive told to press than A100 will be upgraded to JellyBean. It it happens A110 will be promoted as well. No definite news so far.

One thing for sure, Micromax is still not considered in the elite list despite of awesome performance in last few years. However, you can try the product as many people are using Micromax products. I myself have been using A110 for a month or so. I am satisfied with the performance. In less than 10k you will get only Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos with mere 832 MHz processor, 3.2 MP camera and other compromised features which I do not think are as brilliant as MMX A110. If you can increase budget up to 18k go for Samsung Galaxy S Advance. Less than that you will not find a Samsung product with attractive features. Otherwise, stick to Micromax A110.
Regarding Nokia, the company is not using Android OS. If you need Android as your OS you have to exclude Nokia from the list. Nokia mostly working on Series 40 OS in low-end Asha Series smartphones and Windows Phone 7,7.8 and 8 in high-end smartphones. Feel free to ask me if you have decided your preferred brand.

I tried but their is some problem with sound.most of the videos Loos sound while playing n again it start.so is this problem of phone or video.
Yes it’s causing some issues with HD 720p video even in MX Player. Sound gets paused for few seconds and starts again automatically. Happening in every 30-40 seconds. It’s poor. Let me try other video players.

Thanks Deep for your feedback. You can use Skype. An in-build video chat client is there. Unless you subscribe to Skype it’s not necessary to use it. Secondly, you can play MC3, NFC Most Wanted, GTA 3 in it. I have not tried DNR so far, honestly speaking. I am not entirely satisfied with extreme gaming. However, in this price segment you can’t ask for more. Isn’t it? By the way, Nokia Lumia 505 is not coming to India. It’s exclusively for Mexico. You can try the Indian version Lumia 510. You are most welcome here. Overall touch responsiveness of A110 is pretty good. Normally, it does not lag while switching between home screens at a fast pace. I would not mind buying it instead of a low-cost Windows Phone 7.8. App support for MMX A110 will be way better than Lumia 510. Lumia 620 is certainly different. You already know the reasons… You can even play high graphics games like MC3, NFS Most Wanted, GTA 3 etc in Micromax A110.

Performance wise Xperia Go is better. It’s also a IP57 certified dust & water proof handset.MMX A110 is good at around 10k. It’s better not to compare these handsets. MMX A110 can be great alternative of any handset out there in higher price segment. It has larger display, quality hardware. If you can stretch your budget to that far reach out for Xperia Go without bothering too much about MMX A110.

When I play videos the video player is not able to play the videos smoothly it is the same with YouTube also.can some body give me solution for this.
720p video is not played smoothly. Sound goes off frequently.Even if you use MX Player instead of the Stock player HD video lags. Are you trying the same or it’s happening to even 480p. I tried 480p and less and everything works smoothly.

You can use voice calling and video chatting both. No need to install something like Skype for video chat. Native chat client is there. While you select someone from your contacts you are asked to select the type of call.Front facing VGA camera is there as well.

Yes a quad core beast is coming soon. Possibly, it will run brand new MediaTek MT6589 SoC.Price is unknown. But I do not think it will cost 11-12k. You can expect it for less than 15k. Not sure!

1. You can move apps to external SD card using Apps2SD app. It’s free and works well.
2. No Bluetooth works well.
3. Battery is no doubt poor. You must not expect too long hours of usage.
4. It depends on your usage. Try to use Antivirus like Dr. Web Antivirus Lite or anything you think is suitable.

I have bought Micromax A110, two days back. I transfered some files through bluetooth. These files have been transferred to the bluetooth folder. i am trying to move these files to the music and movies folder. I am able to use the cut option, but when going to the destination folder i am not able to find the paste option. Please someone can guide me about this..
In Bluetooth folder or any other folder you will see a “Pen” like icon at the bottom. Click on that. You will be asked to select files you want to move.Select the files. Then click the right most icon and use the cut function. Do the same when you paste it in the destination folder. Click the ‘Pen’ icon first then the right most icon. You are done!

@Prakash two things you have mentioned here are different although they look pretty much the same as per as features are concerned. Micromax A110 is a phablet that can be carried as a phone. It supports dual sim card slot. You can use it like a phone and carry it in pocket. But HCL Me V1 is a tablet that has a sim card slot but not suitable for talking purpose. You can use it for voice communication using Bluetooth headset. But tablet is not recommended for voice communication. Other features like web browsing, gaming, movie watching are better than smartphones. Therefore my suggestion would be first understand the purpose then go for it.
when it comes to gaming which mobile supports high graphic games better between karbonn A -21 and A – 100…………..? cause i will be mostly using it for gaming……pls comment
Micromax A110 is running MediaTek MT6577 SoC that couples two 1 GHz Cortex A9 processors, PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. On the other side, Karbonn A21 is using Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8625 SoC that couples 1.2 GHz clocked Cortex A5 processor cores and Aderno 203 GPU. Both are supplied 512 MB RAM (less than 512 MB free). Aderno 203 is not known for gaming. Same thing I can say about PowerVR SGX531. It would have been definitely better with PowerVR SGX540. Combining all the aspects I would conclude Micromax A110 is better in gaming!

well written articles you got in there. thanks for all these info. i recently purchased A110 for my dad n its been running nicly for him. kudos to ICS interface, he didnt take much time to jump from a dumb phone to a smart phone user n been happily reading him medical journals and all on the bigger screen as well.
well, talks aside. there seems to be one problem regarding the OS, not the hardware. i sent him a gmail attachement, PDF file, sometime back. he downloaded ir, it failed 2-3 times n then the notification bar on top showing the downloading in progress ever since. i have tried force stopping, rebooting,removing the battery, installing task killer apps, nothing seems to be workin. any idea u got with this problem? would be very much thankful to your help man.
Thanks for your feedback. It must be a bug of the OS. It works in case of images, PDFs. Default storage location is internal SD card ‘download’ folder. I am not sure why this is happening with your handset. Re-installation of OS would solve this. But I think you need to consult Micromax service center first before doing anything else. If you have a rooted device they will not accept it unless you return the original ROM.

In India Symphony W100 is not available. I can’t say anything on this one. But Micromax A110 is definitely better. In last couple of months it’s doing exceedingly well in Indian market.

This is an arguable question. IMO Android is best for low-end smartphones. You do not get too many utility features in low-cost Windows Phones. It might run Windows Phone 7.5/7.8 whereas in Rs. 12k or less you get upgraded version of Android OS. Couple of JellyBean loaded handsets are coming soon in market at tight budget.
Also please tell me is this MM A110 better than samsung galaxy s2 or not.
No way! Galaxy S2 is still one of the best smartphones out there in market. Fabulous display. It has Super AMOLED Plus RGB Matrix display that offers even better color rendering as compared to Galaxy S3. Hardware may look outdated but still a premium choice. It will get JellyBean upgrade soon.

The original ROM has left 400 MB+ for apps and 2.05 GB in internal SD. With latest V2 ROM (possibly new handsets are coming with V2 ROM preloaded) you get more storage 1.4 GB for apps.

Deleting call records in Micromax A110 is fairly easy! Go to calls->Select the middle option on top where you can see all incoming,outgoing,missed call record (it looks like a clock)->Now touch the menu button->you will see two options, Delete and Settings->Touch Delete Option->Select the entries you want to delete or select all->Now delete.

You can’t do much on video. I will try to find out if there is any decoder available that can boost volume. Check all settings for volume boost!

First one is app space where you have to install all the apps. Second one is the internal SD card storage where you will get approx 2 GB storage and the external SD card is the storage that you are supplying in the slot.You can easily change amount in external SD card slot. But internal SD card space can’t be increased. Some tweaks are there. You have to look around for any such trick.

Well, it seems there is any minor bug in your handset. Remove the battery once and see if it’s performing or not. Otherwise, you must visit the service center before doing anything else. Re-installation of the ROM might fix the problem but it’s not recommended as the warranty may be void due to this.

now i transferred them to A110 Canvas 2 .
in HTC most of my contacts were sync with Facebook and thus whenever any friend called her name with FB pic flashed on my screen. sadly out here in A110 Canvas 2 its not happening, i did all the options {sync with FB, etc} but still not happening

I bought canvas 2 recently,
yesterday i was trying to attach files from my SD card but I unable to do so,as there was no option of SD card,
Available Options are Gallery,Media files,videos,etc.
But SD card or file manager option was not available.
Suggest me what to do ?
Please check it properly internal SD card option is there. I tried the same with Yahoo Mail and it works. Takes longer time still you can do it. By default once you click on the attachment option internal SD card contents pops up.
I am trying to attach it on my pre-loaded GMAIL app but I am unable to find it.
Kindly suggest me what to do ?
Compose the mail and click the menu key, the left key of Home. There you will see Attach Picture, Attach Video and several other options.

@RamPrasad you may try Envent Breeze Bluetooth Headset – ET-BTD010 that costs approx Rs. 600. Samsung Bluetooth Headset – BHM1200 is one of the best but the price is high. It costs around Rs. 1100. Plantronics ML10 is also a good choice that is also slightly costly.

No you can’t move all the apps to internal SD. Use the app Apps2SD. It automatically moves apps to SD.

Uninstall Whasapp and try to reinstall it once again. If you do not receive confirmation message try to use the phone call option. It works.

Actually I haven’t found out any exact solution of this problem so far.

To be able to sync Facebook contacts with phone.
Make sure to enable sync not only from phone settngs, but ALSO facebook official app.
This is a limitation of Facebook app and NOT MMX A110.
After you enable sync BOTH on device and from official Facebook Application (settings -> sync -> check option to sync), contacts should sync!

Yes, you can root it in just few clicks. Once the handset is rooted you will get super user permission. Some apps like ClockwordModRecovery, ROM manager and several other apps require root access for installation. You can take full backup of your ROM and try to install customs ROM without any hiccup. Remember one thing, root voids warranty.

Yes, it’s possible. I saw the procedure in XDA earlier, I do not remember that thread now. But it’s possible. The only drawback of the process was it was using micro SD class 10 card for creating virtual RAM.Ultimately, the life of the SD card is shorten.

No the default dialer is good and does not lag even when few apps are running in background.

Gorilla Glass is not there but AGC Sodaline coating is there. It’s not a very useful scratch resistant material.

Okay, I’ll try to get a post on the best games for Canvas 2. Battery backup especially if you are using 3G network is very very poor. You will get max 4 hours of talk time or less than that while gaming. Do not mind, it’s not possible for me to call you or accept calls regarding all these. But I’ll definitely help you in finding some cool games.

Well, as you have mentioned Sony Xperia is a big brand. It’s true. Micromax is doing reasonably good job in recent times. But I would recommend to go for a handset from a big brand especially if you are not too eager for extreme gaming. Go for Xperia. In less than 12k you will get Xperia Tipo and Tipo dual. Hi there, its been a long time since i made my last post here in this forum, well i have abandoned the idea of getting an WP at least for now, what i am really looking forward to is LG Optimus L9, i have seen enough videos, reviews and feedback and i must put in – this is a great device. And considering there’s virtually no competition (at least until the Galaxy Grand arrives) its put’s every other android phones to shame in 17k price bracket. I was just wondering if it can make video calls, some reported there is no Skype video call support for this phone, what about Viber or Tango ? I hope it gets updated to JB, the sooner the better. Well, I do not understand why it fails to make video call. There is no definite reason for that. Front camera is there. Almost all droids support Skype or other VoIP apps. It may be there is no native video chat client. But Skype and Viber should work. It’s a good choice, no doubt about that.

Virtually no limitation for messages. You can archive messages in PC or SD card to increase the limit. Sound quality mediocre, not too impressive. Definitely inbox is there. It’s full touch screen. Stock Android QWERTY keyboard is there. You can install additional keyboard apps.

You mean Android keyboard instead of the stock keyboard. Download Swiftkey 3 or Scandinavian keyboard. Whatsapp works perfectly.

No it’s not. This happens to all dual sim standby mobiles. When one sim is busy other sim goes automatically to offline mode. When someone calls to that sim it sounds unreachable.

Battery life is not impressive. You get just approx 4-5 hrs of usage with fully charged condition. Try to use wall charger instead of the USB charger. It takes less hours to fully charge the handset.

You are right. New Canvas 2 comes up with V2 ROM. It’s difficult to understand the version of RAM without opening the box. If you already own one check out app space from storage under settings. See the amount. If it’s well over 1 GB (1.4 GB actually) it’s the V2 ROM. Otherwise with 512 MB it’s V1 ROM.

You are welcome. Internal SD card space is 2.05 GB and app space is increased to ~1.4 GB from 512 MB. Also the micro SD card slot is there expandable up to 32 GB.

I still believe Canvas 3 will run quad core MediaTek MT6589. No way Micromax would love to destroy the reputation they have gathered from Canvas 2 by using unknown Broadcomm. I do not want to say Broadcomm is poor but MediaTek sounds more reliable. 1 GB RAM and out of the box JellyBean are what smartphone lovers would be happy to see. Probably you are right. 11-12 k or max 13 k would be ideal for the handset. More than that will surely take the handset out of competition. It’s not a matter of just a thousand or two, it’s all about belief. Micromax is still new in this market. Samsung, HTC, Sony and other international competitors are far away, be it design, concept or built in quality.
I dont understand why you have not posted about iball andi 4.5 H . Which has 1 gb ram. Android 4.0.4, 1 ghz dual core processor, 4.5 qhd display for 12000. Its way better than canvas 2. Please post about it as it is a good handset.

Certainly not! Spec wise Micromax Canvas 2 is better than Samsung Galaxy Ace or even Galaxy S Duos. But this is not what Samsung is all about. I can say in around 10k budget this is better than Samsung. But this is not true for Samsung Galaxy S Advance or other high-end products. Similarly, Canvas 2 is better than Xperia Tipo as per as performance is concerned but not as good as Xperia U or Xperia Sola.

@Tushal you are right that Canvas 2 is bulky and not as convenient as Nokia X2-01 especially when you spend hours of time in call each day. In all round specs it’s way better than Nokia X2-01. These handsets are not meant for call purpose only. People spend hours of time in gaming each day. In simple words I can say Ice Cream Sandwich is upgraded version of Android OS. Gingerbread is currently outdated and only low-cost handsets are coming with this OS.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, you can use two GSM sim cards without any issues. It’s completely up to you. No slow down in performance. In both sim card slots you can use 2G+2G or 2G+3G or 3G+2G. It seems battery is unaffected with two sim cards. But remember you can use data network in one sim at a time.

No hanging issue unless you are intentionally doing it. It’s definitely better than A70. But camera quality is not impressive by any means. In day-light shooting is too some extent tolerable but night shooting is just poor.

Hi Mandip i am confuse between micromax a110 karbonn a30 and micromax a116 i want longer battery and fast for internet surfing and price up to 13000 which u can suggest and else which phone u suggest minimum screen size is 5 inch or more dual sim
None of these handsets will give satisfactory battery backup. Micromax A110 is poor be it web surfing or gaming. Karbonn A30 is also suffers from battery issue. The display is huge but accordingly Karbonn haven’t increased the size of battery. Micromax A116 is yet to be proven poor but you can easily imagine it’s poor because with similar display size, higher resolution and two extra processor cores (as compared to A110) Micromax have increased battery to 2100 mAh (100 mAh extra). It should have been using a 2500 mAh battery. You need to go for a small display smartphone to get decent battery usage.

Quad core CPU, 2 GB RAM, full HD 1080p display, 13 MP camera even at 15000 will wash out the competition. Micromax Canvas HD is no where close to it. I am not too sure about after sales service. Let some of the specs to get confirmed first.
In some places it’s wrongly written that it’s using 1.5 GHz Cortex A7 quad with MediaTek MT6589. But it can’t be that. In MediaTek MT6589 Cortex A7 cores can be clocked at 1.2 GHz max.

In Canvas A-GPS will work even if there is no magnetometer sensor. But the locking system might not be as fast as Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Check the camera settings. You can try to set brightness, hue, saturation, contrast, exposure etc to different levels. Then you will see better camera quality without shades.

It’s impossible to tell. But one thing I an say, built in quality of a Nokia handset is much better than Micromax A110. But it’s way better in terms of specs as compared to a Nokia handset priced around Rs 10000.

You can run multiple applications. In case you experience lag close some unwanted apps. It’s not necessary always.

Since you do not want to change handset frequently I would suggest you to choose between Sony Xperia P and Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. Between these two my bet would be Xperia P. It has brilliant WhiteMagic display and Legendary Mali 400-MP GPU. Galaxy Grand is also good as per as benchmark scores are concerned. But if you do not need a dual sim handset go for Xperia P. I am not saying Micromax A116 Canvas HD is poor. It’s the only one in the list with HD resolution. But BRAVIA Engine powered Xperia P has similar display that is used in Xperia S. It only lacks a micro SD card slot. Rest of the specs are outstanding. Camera quality, sound add-on and gaming compatibility are superb.

the song playing widget which was pre installed on the main screen (desktop) in my canvas 2 got hanged so i removed it from the main screen thinking i will again create the shortcut & it will work properly. However i got to know that i cannot find the same thing anywhere else on my phone. though there are options of music & music playlist is there but its not as convenient as the one given. please help me in getting that back.

You can buy any of these handsets. iBall Andi 4.5H has more RAM but overall performance of Canvas 2 is comparable.

It does support multitasking. You can use Wi-Fi tethering to share internet in other Wi-Fi enabled device. No screenshot option. You can download barcode scanner and whatsapp. Whatsapp does work in Canvas 2.

Yes, it does stream video. HD playback is not smooth in all Canvas 2 handsets. Native YouTube app is pre-installed. You can install other apps depending on requirement.

I heard that months ago. No update as of now. I don’t think they will do so. Now they have Canvas HD up and available. Canvas 2 is already placed on the second spot. You can try custom JellyBean ROM at your own risk if you really want.

You may try Apps2SD app to move some of the apps to internal SD card from phone.
Mandip earlier you told me one app apps backup and restore but when I backed up all my apps to my memmory card but still the installed apps are taking space tell me one app with which I can transfer all my apps to my memory card if they were still be installed on my phone they wont take my phones space only my memory cards space

I have been using Micromax A110 for last 4 months but i have not faced any big issues with this handset. The only problem I have faced with this handset is its touchscreen which doesn’t works properly when connected to PC. I just wanted to know is this the problem with all Micromax A110 handsets or with one which I have and how can it be resolved.

@Santosh, thanks, I am fine. I hope you all are well. Some Canvas 2 handsets are causing sensitivity issues. I have heard from several users. If it’s minor ignore it. Otherwise, you must get it checked it from your nearest Micromax service center. It’s in warranty. Free services will be offered to you. It’s not a default from for all Canvas 2 units. But some units cause the same problem while USB is on.

The Canvas2 A110 does not support 850mhz and 1900mhz. It won’t work for international roaming across US, Canada and South America. I’m looking for a phone with 1Ghz dual core processor, preferably 1gb ram(although 512mb will also work) and mainly fully active dual sim. Which one would you suggest?

It’s very hard to get Micromax A110 Canvas 2. In all online retail stores you will see out of stock notice. I am not sure whether you will find it in Nagpur or not.

In your price segment there is no good handset from Micromax. In less than Rs 6000 you will get MMX A89 Ninja which has dual core processor, 512 MB RAM. It has the same hardware that is used in Canvas 2.

No it will not work in USA. 2G will not work, 3G might work as it supports UMTS 2100 and some US carriers offer UMTS 2100 network band.

Your review is really good, and i too liked this mobile very much.. but the problem is when i am driving i will use ear phones to attend or to cut the call.. but whenever i cut the call using the button provided in the ear phone or if i by mistake press this button , automatically music will starts to play, how to resolve this problem.? and is there any particular headset settings option in a110..? and also can u please tell me how to change sms tone.

I have purchased new Micromax Canvas 2 on 14 Feb 2013. After some days i found the problem in my touch screen. Whenever i traveled from train pressure comes on the screen. It is showing a round patch in center of the screen. It remains for 2-3 hours and then slowly it get disappears. Kindly help me.
You should get it checked it by service center. Display might be affected from inside half. It’s under warranty and free service will be offered to you.

I have MMX A110, when i connect my phone in PC through USB cable and select tethering & portable hotspot and than select USB tethering in windows 7 it works perfectly but in windows XP it can’t work, because in windows xp canvas 2 network driver not install proper.

Of course Aderno 305 is better. I guess you are considering Sony Xperia L. It’s definite better choice over all MediaTek powered devices (you are talking about Canvas 2 here). Canvas 2 supports HTML5.

I bought recently Micromax Canvas 2 mobile it is Android Jellibean 4.1.1 version and my friends told me to “Android 4.2 jellibean is best android version, you have to upgrade”. You should try to stop unwanted apps from settings. Clear cache, press the home button for few seconds, all the running apps from cache will be shows. Just discard the apps and everything will be fine.

I ‘m using micromax canvas2 from last 2 months. I have upgraded it to jelly bean and using 8GB micro sd card. The problem is it’s frequently getting hanged and gets restarted. It’s really frustrating me a lot. I visited micromax service center for twice for the first time they upgraded it to jelly bean and for second time they just update the software but it still get hanged. Can you please tell me the reason behind it?
