Qualcomm already announced quad core MSM8226 and the MSM8626 chips based on ARM Cortex A7 28nm architecture. This processor cores resemble Cortex A15 but not as powerful as Cortex 15. @Avinash I can tell you any exact time frame as of now. Wait for future update. But anytime in January is very much in the cards. That much I can say right now.

I agree Micromax is yet to open mouth in this regard. This happens to every Micromax handset. They never hint or release press release on their upcoming projects. I am assuming that Canvas 3 is coming as ‘Canvas’ has become the best ‘Series’ for Micromax just like ‘Galaxy S’ in case of Samsung. Well, quad core processor, MediaTek MT6589 chipset, 1 GB RAM and out of the box JellyBean are pretty certain. But no guarantee once again! Canvas 2 is brilliant. In case, you are in hurry you may opt for it.

It’s not yet officially announced by Micromax. Probably, this is the month they would target. No official news as of now. You can expect it at around 13000/-
So if you are not in hurry wait for this month at least. Canvas is better but Canvas 3 should be better.

@Salman I do not have any confirmed news as of now. I tried to contact Micromax but haven’t received any satisfactory info on it’s release. I do not think it will be delayed till May-June. In case it does not come in January, in February it must be there. Once again I can’t confirm you. Normally, TV ads are shows just before the release of a handset or when it’s already available in market. Recently I saw a TV ad where Micromax is claiming something dedicated to music is coming soon. That’s why I am expecting the release to happen anytime in January or possibly by early part of February. Dolby Digital Sound Enhancement will be there in MMX Canvas 3. If you are not in hurry wait till the end of January. Otherwise, go for Canvas 2.

You are right. It’s for TV. Well, it looks like release date will be delayed. One other thing is playing in the middle is Canvas 2 is still doing a fair job. The long Canvas 3 is delayed hype will eventually increase. It’s the strategy taken by Apple and now adopted by Samsung. Micromax might be following this as well.

Actually there is no news so far on Canvas 3 or Pixel 3. Both will be launched but exact release date is not set of of now. I can’t confirm any features. But I guess AMOLED display will be there in Pixel 3 as it’s the best point of this handset. Gorilla Glass 2 may be there in addition. Current Pixel 2 or A90S has Gorilla Glass. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is very new. I don’t think Micromax would consider that. This will eventually increase the price. The biggest challenge Micromax and other Indian companies face cost effective price tag. To sell Pixel 3 in less than 15k Micromax may drop some quality hardware and replace them by cheap ones.
One more thing sir! I know it Sounds weird, but can i play the latest COD black ops 2 on the new pixel 3?? I know its crazy! But i dont have any idea about pixel’s gaming, just wanted to know about its capabilities… I am Sorry , if i had asked anything wrong! Will b waiting for your reply….

You are a heavy gamer. I would not suggest Canvas 2 to you. For casual gamers it’s alright. You may somehow manage to play these games but it’s not best suitable for you. Sony Xperia U ( link: http://www.mobilephonenews.org/sony-xperia-u-price-in-india/ ) would be a good choice but storage might cause some issues later on. Next choice would be Sony Xperia Sola (http://www.mobilephonenews.org/sony-xperia-sola-price-in-india/ ). Although you can see both have 512 MB RAM GPU is too powerful.Huawei Ascend G600 is also a choice. thanks for your reply manidip. yesterday i was going through the reviews of the previous version of this a110 canvas 2 i.e micromax a100 and i saw many people complaining about that phone as they were facing lot of hardware and software issues within 3 months of the usage and they were recommending not to buy that phone. I cant say anything about this canvas 2 since its new in the market. but it hardware and software issue is still there in this phone too then i would prefer not buying this and look for some other phone instead.looking forward for your opinion.thanks
It’s always better to opt for big brands like Samsung, HTC, Nokia etc as the best thing these companies provide is reliability of service. Psychological factor always plays in background when you purchase new brands. I would never say Micromax promises better reliability of service as compared to all big guns. But to get a compact handset you have to spend at least double the amount a Micromax or Karbonn handset claims. That’s the only reason of buying handsets manufactured by local companies. If Galaxy Note 2 was available in 15k and Canvas 2 was up for sale in 10k nobody would have thought of Canvas 2. Isn’t it like that?
It happens to everyone when we purchase new brands. If it’s 2k it’s fine to opt for. But when the amount is 10k it’s something to worry. Nothing wrong from your end. Most of the buyers may of low-cost handsets may not afford a new handset in couple of months of time once he/she purchases a new one spending 10 or 12k. I can’t say anything on the durability of Canvas 2. It depends on your luck to some extent too. Only thing I can say it’s the best phone in less than 10k price segment.

Price of Sony Xperia Sola is reduced to Rs. 14,490 in Flipkart. It’s the best gaming phone in your budget. No front camera is there. It’s the only drawback of the handset.

SRS sound enhancement might be there. I can’t mention it’s release date. Yes, you can use the headset you have mentioned. Possibly, camera will be 8 MP, not a 13 MP. It does not make any difference if it’s an ordinary 13 MP camera just like what is there in Canvas 2 (it’s 8 MP though). Canvas 2 records VGA video. It’s rather better if the 8 MP camera of Canvas 3 records HD 720p video. Do not get confused 13 MP camera of Sony Xperia Z is a Exmor RS sensor camera. It’s a Sony patented product. If Micromax has to use it in Canvas 3 it has to purchase the camera sensor from Sony first. This will eventually increase the cost of the handset. I do not think it will be there.

Since you have used iPhone 4S I guess the best alternative would have been iPhone 5. Since you want to come down to Android you need a quad core beast with at least 1 GB RAM to play all massive games. I am not convinced with PowerVR SGX544 GPU or overall performance of the SoC MTK6589 that will be there in Micromax Canvas 3. But 1 GB RAM may somehow manage extreme gaming. There is no other alternative right now in this price segment. So wait till March. I hope there will be couple of more choices for you at that time.

I have not checked earlier whether SGX544 is listed in the recommendation GPU list of Gameloft. Actually, I wanted to mean many of the Gameloft games are not optimized for all GPUs even they struggle with Aderno GPU. Full graphics is very much required to enjoy best gaming experience. ARM Mali is best for all high-end Gameloft games. That’s why I replied in that way. No issues with SGX544 it’s better than SGX531 for sure. You even can play Nova 3 is Micromax A110.

Overall performance is good. looks wise phone is great, but battery is one little concern. one more thing the flip cover for this phone is still not available in the market in kolkata. However this phone is worth buying i guess for every user who loves large screen and android. Just one more thing to ask you any update on jelly bean????

Major advantage of V2 ROM is app storage space is increased to more than 1 GB from 512 MB. It’s impossible from outside to check whether it’s running V1 or V2 ROM. Probably new canvas 2 devices are shipping with this V2 ROM.

Well, with 1 GHz ARMv7 processor, 512 MB RAM ICS runs well. Normally manufacturers are using 1 GB RAM and at least dual core processor for JellyBean devices. Samsung Galaxy Y Duos will not get upgrade to ICS. Samsung previously declared that all ARMv6 smartphones i.e. Galaxy Y series will not get OS upgrade in future. Few weeks ago an official ICS ROM was spotted in an upcoming Galaxy Pocket model. May be Samsung is working on these ARMv6 devices now. However, chances are negligible to me.
Rooting means getting super user access to a smartphone.
Processors are clocked to a particular frequency i.e. 1 GHz or 1.2 GHz etc. Normally, in a SoC (System on Chip) manufacturers set a frequency to the processors so that it runs the device in a stable condition. Over-clocking means you are increasing the processor frequency. setCPU is a popular paid app. But keen one thing in mind if you do not know much about all these do not play with CPU clock. It might brick your device.

Micromax released V2 ROM in the month of December. All new handsets are coming pre-loaded with V2 ROM. I do not see any way of understanding the version of ROM unless the seal is torn. Yes, you can upgrade this from official service centers.

It might look like Galaxy Note 2. Already we have seen Micromax is capable of giving good finish, see Canvas 2. It’s sleek, stylish and elegant. Just 9.7 mm thickness is brilliant. However, Canvas 3 might have more slimmer profile.
Regarding the release of Canvas 3 I can’t confirm you anything. You can expect it as early as March.

Up till now all specs you have seen here and there are all based on assumptions. ‘Canvas 3′ name is pretty certain and couple of other features. Rest are completely based on the chipset it’s going to use.

I have not heard about the Broadcomm quad core SoC before. In last year all quad core processors were all from Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei and NVIDIA. Honestly, I do not know much about the Broadcomm SoC. I need to check out. I am also not sure why Micromax is shifting to Broadcomm instead of MediaTek MT6589.

Sir finally some news has come out from micromax but the phone they are about to launch is not upto our expectation it contains none of the specs as rumored and it also doesn’t contains the mediatek processor it has broadcom quadcore chipset can you also give some kind of conformation on this news.
I am also not sure about the performance of the Broadcomm Quad SoC.
Broadcom is chipset manufacturer which I have never heard about. And according to new news it has qhd resolution, 512 mb ram, I think they are just upgrading the android os and giving it a new name canvas 3. Could you please give some concrete info.

If they are planning to release quad core with 512 mb ram, then i will suggest users to go for canvas 2. Spending 5000 more for a specification that will make phone dam slow will not be a wise idea. I was thinking for canvas 3 but new news has disappointed me. Broadcom is a chipset maker for wireless devices and no experience of processors. Micromax is going to spoil its reputation which it has gained from canvas 2.
You have made a really good point and I don’t understand what is micromax thinking of a releasing a phone with broadcom quadcore processor and very disappointing 512 mb ram. I personally think that the broadcom processor will be weaker than the mediatek coz I haven’t heard that broadcom manufactures chipsets really bad decision by micromax.

and the post you mentioned yesterday evening was by micromax a110 Facebook page, how promising is that?, because nothing such can be found on micromax official Facebook page. tell me bro shall i go for canvas 2 having seen that new canvas 3 is no exciting than canvas 2 even having price tag of 15k, or wait for canvas 3 that is supposed to have features mentioned a110 fb page.

Look Canvas 3 is coming with similar specs as you already have seen in Canvas2. The quad core processor is replaced by quad core and JellyBean roll out is officially performance. The 12 MB camera does not make any serious improvement in the quality of camera. Go for Canvas 2 instead. No need to waste 5k just for JellyBean. For optimum performance JellyBean requires more RAM. With just 512 MB RAM it will slow down the performance. Canvas 2 is still better. Till you see it listed by Micromax in their official website you must not consider any rumor to be true. This is a very good way of making promotion for a product by leaking contradictory spec sheet. The hype remains high till it’s released. Therefore, I can say TheMobileIndian could be right or the Facebook page.

I think Micromax will delay its launch as it is advertising heavily for CANVAS 2 recently. Must be having quite good amount of stock. I dont think they will launch it before MARCH 2013
You may be right. Micromax is advertising heavily on Canvas 2. One other thing they could do, officially announce it in next few weeks and start supplying the handset in March or may be in April.

Do u think that the size of Canvas series of Micromax is too large display & not easy to carry out…?? Stil i don’t understand why they don’t think Canvas series in 4.1 or 4.2 inch display with same specification so that we may use quite easily…

Don’t consider things in that way. MediaTek is widely used. It will last. But you know, electronics goods can get damage at any time. You can’t do anything about that but MediaTek is definitely good.
