Upcoming Micromax quad core smartphone could have a model number A116. Currently available Micromax Canvas 2 has a model number A110. According to some rumors upcoming Canvas 2 could be launched in Indian market as Superfone A116 Canvas 3. It’s still just a rumor, do not take it seriously so early. Possibly, it’s releasing by the end of February. Powered by AVEA technology Canvas 3 might have a 5 inch display. It’s just like Sony patented Mobile BRAVIA technology.
Micromax recently introduced AVEA technology in their television sets. AVEA stands for Audio Visual Entertainment Architecture. It’s a picture engine that ensures well balanced brightness-contrast ratio, excellent color rendering and improved viewing angles. Instead of individual dots in display you will see complete image from all possible angles.

In hardware segment Micromax Canvas 3 might have Android 4.1.x JellyBean operating system, 1 GB RAM and quad core processor. Huawei recently unveiled MediaTek MT6589 quad core SoC based Ascend G520 for the Chinese market. Therefore, Micromax is not the first company to get their hands to this brand new SoC. Unlike Cortex A9 or Cortex A15 or Krait based SoCs MTK6589 is more power efficient. At the same time the throughput is less. It couples quad ARM Cortex A7 application processor cores. PowerVR SGX544 GPU is quite brilliant but overall performance of the SoC is very poor as compared to Exynos 4412 Quad or Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro or NVIDIA Tegra 3. Upcoming Exynos 5 or Snapdragon S4 Prime or NVIDIA Tegra 4 (Next Xolo to come with Tegra 4) are way powerful than this SoC. However, for low-cost handset it’s quite handy. The WHOLE point of a Budget Android device is that it should be a capable product at ~10K…. If Canvas3 stays between 11-11.5k, could be confidence building towards the brand… THEN the higher models (18k+ ) will fly off their shelves.
I guess Canvas 3 will be priced around Rs. 13k.

Possibly it will. I can’t confirm you it right now as the specs are unofficial as of now.
i had an idea about future mobiles….. why cant mobile manufacturers Install “BIOMETRIC SCAN” i.e (finger print scanner) in thier mobiles????? or else “RETINA LOCK ” this may be more secure isn’t it??? and of course it will be a new technology and the company which produces it first may take the most impression from the people and earn more ….. am i right sandip??

Micromax A116 is Canvas HD. It’s not Canvas 3. If you see it A116 as Canvas 3 it’s either a typo or wrongly written. Canvas 3 is possibly the next model. Possibly, Canvas HD will be up in retail stores in next couple of weeks.

@Sonu these are different devices. Micromax A116 is Canvas HD but Micromax Canvas 3 is not yet official. Do not get confused. If you see anywhere Micromax A116 is written as Canvas 3 it’s either not updated once the device is officially announced or wrongly written.
