Upcoming Micromax quad core smartphone could have a model number A116. Currently available Micromax Canvas 2 has a model number A110. According to some rumors upcoming Canvas 2 could be launched in Indian market as Superfone A116 Canvas 3. It’s still just a rumor, do not take it seriously so early. Possibly, it’s releasing by the end of February. Powered by AVEA technology Canvas 3 might have a 5 inch display. It’s just like Sony patented Mobile BRAVIA technology.
Micromax recently introduced AVEA technology in their television sets. AVEA stands for Audio Visual Entertainment Architecture. It’s a picture engine that ensures well balanced brightness-contrast ratio, excellent color rendering and improved viewing angles. Instead of individual dots in display you will see complete image from all possible angles.

In hardware segment Micromax Canvas 3 might have Android 4.1.x JellyBean operating system, 1 GB RAM and quad core processor. Huawei recently unveiled MediaTek MT6589 quad core SoC based Ascend G520 for the Chinese market. Therefore, Micromax is not the first company to get their hands to this brand new SoC. Unlike Cortex A9 or Cortex A15 or Krait based SoCs MTK6589 is more power efficient. At the same time the throughput is less. It couples quad ARM Cortex A7 application processor cores. PowerVR SGX544 GPU is quite brilliant but overall performance of the SoC is very poor as compared to Exynos 4412 Quad or Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro or NVIDIA Tegra 3. Upcoming Exynos 5 or Snapdragon S4 Prime or NVIDIA Tegra 4 (Next Xolo to come with Tegra 4) are way powerful than this SoC. However, for low-cost handset it’s quite handy.
