In new year Micromax will come up with quad core processor, 1 GB RAM smartphone. Though the news has not been confirmed by Micromax but suddenly the introduction of MediaTek MT6589 SoC with quad core Cortex A7 application processor raises the question when the quad core beast is coming in market. This time MediaTek may also replace PowerVR SGx531 with higher version like SGX540 or even SGX544. In that case GPU is also one of the best for gaming. Now assume 1 GB RAM is there to be exploited. The SoC lone can handle multitasking efficiently. Along side 1 GB RAM ensures the processor or GPU do not cause excessive lagging when a heavy thread is running.

MediaTek MT6589 is based on power efficient cortex A7 ARMv7 application processor. MediaTek is claiming that it’s the most power efficient CPU cores out there in market. The CPU cores are fabricated based on 28 nm architecture. It’s truly an efficient Soc with some cutting edge technology. The SoC supports full HD 1080p video playback, full HD 1080p display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution, DTV grade picture quality. MediaTek Cool 3D suite is also supported by the Soc. Therefore, you can expect a 3D smartphone from Micromax in near future as well.
Each time a new SoC comes from the house of MediaTek MT6589 we can expect the application in sub-$200 smartphones. Let’s see how Micromax negotiates with this move from MediaTek.

@Manish Im surprised to see you are looking for outdated NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC at present. It has never been a popular SoC at any time. When you are paying up to 18k why this choice? Can you please elaborate. Samsung Galaxy R, LG Optimus 2X run this SoC. I guess both these handsets are out of market right now. Let me know if you have other choice. I may help you picking up another one with different SoC. You may try with Tegra 3 but only HTC One X and One X+ available in Indian market. Both cost too high. You need to explain your requirements for better clarification. I hope you understand my point.

iBall Andi 4.5H is a good alternative. I guess you are not looking for phablets. Therefore, Karbonn A21 is also fine. From popular brands you only get Sony Xperia Tipo Dual in this price segment. I would not suggest Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos. Let me know if you satisfied with the list. Otherwise, tell me your requirements so that I can choose best products.
bro i purchased a110 fabulous phone how to disable background running applications like hookup facebook search etc battery backup is also satisfies me way better than s duos no lagging even after so many running applications
Thanks for your feedback. You can disable applications from ‘Manage Apps’. From home screen press the menu button. Second option comes is ‘Manage Apps’. Go to ‘Running’. You will see the applications running in background. It’s actually the processes using RAM. Close applications you think is not necessary. To do that click on any app and you will get the option to ‘Stop’ it. Also remove the processes from cache that comes at the bottom of the page. Please do not close an app that comes with ‘Android’ logo. Hookup, Facebook, Search are integrated apps. You can’t remove the apps without rooting the device. But you can stop these apps in the same way.

@Pradeep thanks or posting the same question once again! Well, things you have mentioned here does not cause any problem at all. Even with FB open (it’s actually remains active always unless it’s rooted), Yahoo/Gmail, GTalk, Google Map, Hookup (Micromax own service) on condition you can play games like Temple Run, Raging Thunder 2 etc. You can close unnecessary apps to increase RAM for even faster response. Therefore, I can say it’s best buy for you as long as you are convinced with the 5 inch display. Battery backup is certainly not the best. Otherwise, it’s perfect.

Rooting simply means getting super user access. You can install some of the apps that do not work in un-rooted condition. It’s always better to root the device. But it voids the warranty. So be careful and root only if you think it’s required. Search Google for rooting tools and procedure.

A110 is a dyal sim phone but at a time only one sim works then y the company is calling it dual sim if both the sims doesnt work together
Actually all dual sim standby phones you will find in market all operate based on the same principle. You can keep two sim cards. But when one sim gets a call or you are making calls other sim goes to offline mode automatically. Once you disconnect the call both the sim cards are active once again. That’s how it operates. You do not need to switch off the phone or anything else. It’s advantageous as you do not need two separate phones at a time.

No info so far. But it’s definitely by next few weeks. Possibly, new gen Pixel will have Super AMOLED display, quad core processor, 1 GB RAM and out of the box JellyBean. As you know ‘Pixel’ series comes with similar specs as compared to Canvas but display remains AMOLED. Hopefully, the trend will continue.

I’m looking to buy either Micormax A110 or Iball Andi 4.5h. My main requirements are
1. Multitasking – I will use be using many apps at a time most of the time
2. Gaming – Although not an hardcore gamer, I will definitely use it to play many games.
3. Battery – I need the battery to hold up atleast for a day with medium usage.
4. Multimedia – If the camera is a decent snapper, that will be a added bonus. But the display should be good enough to watch movies easily.
Which of the two you think will suffice to my needs?. My budget is upto 15k. Or you think it would be better to wait for Quad cores releasing soon?

Both are good. In iBall Andi 4.5H has more RAM and same processor which simply means faster multitasking. Gaming will be better in Andi. Rest of the features are similar. Both boast good day-light capturing but low-light shooting is bad. Since your budget is 15k I recon you will get a quad core one with 1 GB RAM.

It’s from an internal source. Release date was not confirmed but it was confirmed that the device is in manufacturing unit. I have told many a times the same.

@Hafeez How I can I confirm all these when the device is not officially announced. It may be 14k. In that case the AMOLED version or Pixel 3 (may be) will cost 16k or 17k. I do not think buyers will show that much of interest when the budget exceeds 15k. At the end of the day the brand is not too big and the quad core SoC is not the best. Imagine what happens if Lava releases next Xolo with NVIDIA Tegra 4 at 20k. These are assumptions. Isn’t it?

There will not be a world of difference as no dedicated sound enhancement is there in Micromax A116. So, I mustn’t say it’s better as per as sound quality is concerned. May be slight better including the loudspeaker sound. All in all, nothing groundbreaking.

It’s MediaTek MT6589 as you already know. Camera sensor size is 8 MP no 13 MP. Display size is 5 inch with HD resolution.
