Some default applications Hookup, MiStore, MiZone, MiBuddy, MiWeather, Google Search, Maps couple of games i.e. Cricket Fiver, Fruit Devil etc are already installed.
Must Have Apps for Micromax A110 Canvas 2
Unless you root the device you can’t remove these apps. Some of these apps you will not find useful to you as there are plenty of free apps that can be used with better effect. Most importantly all the following apps for Canvas 2 are free to download. You can use these apps in any Android smartphone be it Samsung Galaxy S3 or Micromax A90S or Karbonn A21 or Lenovo P700i. Take a look at the following-
Free Download Apps for Micromax Canvas 2
Default launcher is good but for faster transition between home screens or better flipping experience you must install Go Launcher Ex in your Micromax A110 Canvas 2. It comes with several widgets. Download some of the useful widgets for easy accessibility.
2. Go Locker
Default lock screen is good. If you want to bring some freshness you can install this app.
3. ES File Explorer File Manager
You do not need additional file manager. But ES File manager is an excellent app. Files are categorized properly. You can use the search option to find a file with ease. Additionally, the app makes copying files easier.
4. App2SD
This app is very useful. You can move files to internal SD card. Internal SD card storage is 2.05 GB. It’s better to move apps as many as possible. Once an app is installed App2SD ask you whether to move the app or not. Some apps can’t be moved to SD card.
5. PDANet 3.50
Use this app to share internet connection of your Canvas 2 to your PC. It’s not that everyone using separate data connection. If it’s so in your case install this app and share internet in just clicks. You can use USB tether using data cable or Bluetooth DUN. You need to turn on USB Debugging from Setting to make sure the mass storage mode is off.
Save a copy of installed apps in SD card. Later on if you feel the need of that app you can simply restore it instead of downloading it again. It saves data and time. Easy interface, highly recommended if you try lot of apps.
7. MX Player
Native video player is already installed in your Micromax Canvas 2. But it supports less codecs. MX Player is the best video player you will find in market. It supports various file formats.
8. MapmyIndia
Default Google Map with Street View is already installed in MMX A110. It’s not too useful if you are looking for turn by turn navigation. Install this app for better result.
9. PowerAMP
Simply the best audio player. I love the default music player but this one allows several customization options. Must have app.
I tried Firefox, Chrome but Opera mini is still the best. It uses an outstanding compressing technique. For high speed data networks you may not feel the difference but in slow GPRS/EDGE connection you must install it. Stock browser is already installed.
Swiftkey may be the best out there in PlayStore. But I love this keyboard. You can set HTC/iPhone style keyboard. Works perfectly. Keys are bold.
12. Whatsapp
One of the best messenger apps for your Canvas 2. It comes with 1 year free subscription. You will see lot of your friends already using Whatsapp. Hang around without paying a buck for the first year.
A default Facebook app is already installed in your handset. For faster messaging you can install the latest version of Facebook Messenger app.
14. Way 2 Free SMS
This app comes with 160by2, Way2SMS apps bundled. You can sign up to any of these free messaging service to send messages all over India without any charges.
It’s not a mandatory app but if you think of stopping some of the apps whenever required you can install this. Works like a charm.
16. Kingsoft Office
A complete MS Office suite for Android. It’s a free to download app. Must have business app. Compact and concise UI makes it very easy fr you to create a spreadsheet or word document in your canvas 2.
17 Lookout Security & Antivirus
Safeguard your smartphone from external virus attack. It also malicious URLs in order to protect your personal information intact. Find my Phone features helps you identifying your phone if it’s lost. Backup & Restore feature is there as well. The app automatically backs up contacts to your Lookout.com account. You can restore everything when required.

Is it from Google Play? Then connect the data network, click on the download and it will open the download page in Google Play.There you will see a cross. Click on that. It will cancel the download. Restating the phone or removing the battery would not work in this case. I guess it’s a problem to your data network.

(999) 999-9999 pattern is formed by the phone automatically, you give 10 digit mob no and it does the rest. Check that 10 digits are there as all mob numbers form of 10 digits.

u go to setings>app>open the app u want to transfer> than the opt would be given shift to internal sd card nd thus ur app is transfered to internal storage

Can you advise where do I find settings for HSPA (3G). I searched for it & found only “WCDMA only” and “GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)” in the settings. The phone spec says it is compatible with HSPA.
I guess you are talking about Canvas 2. It’s not compatible with HSPA (High Speed Packet Access). WCDMA or Wireless CDMA is the protocol that use HSDPA and UMTS standard. In Canvas 2 or other handsets that are using MediaTek MT6577 SoC or Qualcomm MSM8225/8625 Snapdragon S4 Play will allow WCDMA and auto mode as there is no support for HSPA. Either the radio is missing or it’s intentionally disabled in the back-end.

And Yes, you got it Right, its about Canvas 2. I dont know about the technicalities behind these abbreviated terms but I just gone through the vodafone website and in there, it is mentioned for better 3G experience the phone should be compatible with HSPA, which can support speed up to 7.2 mbps where as WCDMA they haven’t mentioned the exact speed but cited it will be slower than the HSPA. I am facing problem of slow 3G even if i am in hot spot. Seems to me, this is somewhat bigger drawback with the handset. It is just my opinion, have you come across any such thing with other networks, if not pls suggest which network..!!

The sound output is very poor in CANVAS 2. Even for ring tones, its doesnt sounds well. For audio player, i used Poweramp App , its only effective for using headphones. For Video player, I used MX player app, but its doesnt seems good.. I heard in some blogs, we can improves the soundengine by using some technique. Is it trustfull??? Is anyother solver for this issue???

I agree with you that the sound quality is little poor in the set but don’t expect too much from the low price range product. By the by, try Google Play Music from play sotre. Also do some permotation and combination with inbuilt sound effects (Equiliser).
And as far as MX Player is concerned check the settings & set the color depth to 32bit.
As the default setting for the app will be 16bit which in turn results in reflecting bad video quality.
If you set 32bit I assure you that you will see funtastic video quality irrispective of video format..

Its a huge battery with 2100mhz. Did u use the original charger or did u charge via computer or other chargers. please use the original charger as its 1amp charger.
Charging from computer takes more time. Use wall charger for faster charging.

yea, most smartphone’s GPS units are small and less powerful, they need a clear skyview for higher accuracy. No I dont think that it is a good one, cause it is not possible to open .doc files. xl files and pdf files even after downloading all necessary softwares. Service is also poor.

Well there is no official rom by micromax but it has a custom rom called cynus T2 over at the XDA forum but it’s tricky to install your self also it’s not as good as the V2 rom by micromax

Just hold, drag and place one app icon on the another app icon, it will create the folder on its own and you can rename the folder later..
P.S.: This method works only on Home page not in the app drawer.

You can simply connect Canvas 2 using data cable. Mass storage will automatically opened up. But if you don’t want mass storage mode go to settings, select the developers option and check USB debugging.

Tap on the widget for few seconds, there will be little vibration. On top of the screen you will see a remove icon. Either use multi-touch or drag the widget to that remove icon. It will be removed automatically.

No pre-installed task manager. You don’t need one either. You can close running apps from ‘Apps’ under ‘Settings’. Also press the home button for few seconds and discard running apps.

Hi, does anyone know how i can use only GSM in Micromax canvas 2 A110. Because i only “WCDMA only” and “GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)” is available in the settings. When i put on auto mode the batter runs out faster as the it connected on high speed mode. But not like other phones such as samsung, htc,etc this doesn’t have a mode to keep the data connection activated to stay online without using much battery power.
Please shed some thoughts on how i can use on gsm mode ?

I have updated my Micromax a110 with Jelly Bean OS, but now my Internet is not working; I tried to find on web but, It didn’t understand me that Lines,
“Replace JB modem.img with stock v2 modem.img
(It is placed in /system/etc/firmware/modem.img)
Set permission of new modem.img to rw-r–r– in its properties.
Reboot your phone & its done.”
I found the file modem.img in /system/etc/firmware/
but what about the file
modem.img of stock V2 ???

@jayesh What this process simply explains and tells you to do is just to replce your new updated JB (Jelly beans) modem file with old ICS (Ice Cream Sandwitch) modem file. Stock v2 means you have to find you OLD modem file probably from a back up if you have taken. Just find that file and replace it with modem.img

Thank You for replying, but it mens I have did mistake… I had taken backup for my contact, messages and then all Apps using appSaver… but not taken system backup…. it means I don’t have any old modem.img in my phone.

I always feel that 512 MB RAM is not sufficient for JellyBean. It requires 1 GB RAM for optimum performance. However, the issues you are facing are software glitches. Flash the device with ICS V2 ROM using the Titanium backup.

Basic heating is a concern for most of the low-cost devices. If you think the amount of heat it generates it beyond tolerance get it checked by service center as this could be an issue with the motherboard. You can’t do anything externally.

I believe that this message comes due to you opening too many applications and not closing the process. The easiest way to fix this is to restart the mobile.
The other few ways are to use Task manager and close all opened apps.
Another way would be to hold your menu button for few seconds which will open all minimized apps and tasks you been doing. Then tap and hold the on item from the list and drag it on to your left side to close the app.
Above steps will help to solve the memory concern.

I have canvas2 mobile. I have taken Idea 2G internet connection. The problem is download/upload is not working on internet/whatsup. The browser gets closed frequently when i am accessing net and return to home screen. When try to download image or video from whatsup getting error :”Download failed:Try again later”. Though memory card has space in it.

Try using wifi and do the same process. If this error continues even on wifi, then it is a hardware issue if not it is network connection.
Mostly these sort of issues occur due to issues with network configurations or issues with the operator. Most customer care executives tend to tell its hardware issue and wait. Best suggestion is to try the above and if no positive results, try visiting a service centre (idea) and ask them to check it. If they continue to say the same reason (hardware issue) then ask them to put your sim to a different phone and show that this is not an issue with the operator.

Actually I tried putting Vodafone sim in the Micromax phone but got the same download issue. So the problem seems to be specific to the handset. I have another Canvas2 handset where Vodafone net connection is working perfectly fine allowing downloads etc. Is this repairable?

Hi Sandra,
Well in this canvas 2, you would not get a paste option like others. What you can do is as follows,
After you select and copy the text, you have to select the place where you want to copy the text to, and tap and HOLD the finger for 1sec. then there will be a paste option popping up. As a personal preference I find this mechanism quite easy to use
P.S: Also this method is same with all text applications. Even inside the OS (Contacts, settings, email, maps, etc)

I am using Canvas 2 and having one issue related to radio FM , I cant change radio channels from hands free, when I press the button on Hands Free radio switched off and going to music player and start playing songs from memory card.
Any application available or settings there in Phone ? by using that settings i can change the Radio station by using hands free button.
The default headphone is unable to switch frequencies. I am not sure if other headphones will work or not.
hey guys i bought micromax A110 yesterday…i tried to transfer my contacts from bb to a110 via Bluetooth nd it worked…but when i m trying to import it from internal sd card in a110 its showing “couldn’t import vcard” and i hav not inserted any other memory card yet…please help

My canvas 2 battery wnt last long….max is 7-8 hrs…need to charge twice daily….what can i do???will a jb update my battery performance….any apps that will help???
