Nokia Lumia 510 is now official! It’s built on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango platform. Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon S1 chipset runs this handset with the help of 256 MB RAM. Major drawback of the handset is Windows Phone 7.5. It will be upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8 Tango for sure but it will never be upgraded to Windows Phone 8. This may be the major drawback of this handset. Otherwise, it equips all standard features of a low end smartphone. Nokia Lumia 510 features 4 inch WVGA display at 233 ppi. Display is not too brilliant but a decent one to say the least. It sports rear facing 5 MP camera only. No front camera is there for video chat.
Nokia Lumia 510 is measured to have a dimension of 120.7×64.9×11.5 mm which clearly suggest the phone is in the thicker side. Also the weight of around 129 gm is too much for a low configuration smartphone. Li-Ion 1300 mAh BP-3L battery ensures 6 hrs of talk time and 739 hrs of standby time in GSM network. In connectivity segment is features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB. In 3G HSDPA network speed up to 7.2 Mbps speed in decent. Take a look at the technical details-

Disadvantage of Nokia Lumia 510
It still runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Possibly soon it will be upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8 Tango. But Windows Phone 8 upgrade will never happen in future. That’s disappointing. However, I do not think majority of people will pay Rs.10k for 800 MHz feeble processor and 256 MB RAM smartphone. No doubt it will not support too many apps. Unlike Android market Windows Phone market has limited number of apps. Free apps are also less as compared to Android market. In this situation if you handset has limited app support it becomes difficult for you to get the fullest entertainment from a smartphone.
- Windows Phone 7.5 OS, no Windows Phone 8 upgrade
- 800 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM too few
