Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos could be priced Rs. 19,990. Though the news is not officially confirmed but Samsung or any other retailer you can expect price around the same. Earlier I was expecting it get a price tag of around 22k. Samsung must be targeting mid-range smartphone in India where currently no branded dual sim smartphone available. In around 10-12k price segment several Indian smartphone manufacturers are fighting.
Micromax A110 is doing a fabulous job since its launch. Rather it’s better for Samsung to fight in slightly higher price segment where virtually there is no competitor of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. It’s a compact smartphone. Currently available HTC Desire V or Samsung Galaxy S Duos are running with outdated hardware. HTC Desire SV is priced Rs. 22.5k. Sony hasn’t launched any dual sim smartphone in this price segment. So lot of open space of Samsung to cash in.

You may be in a dilemma whether to spend 20k for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos or not. Plenty of 5 inch smartphones like Micromax A110 Canvas 2 are selling like hot-cakes in market. In response I can say, this time Samsung will not let you down. Majority of Galaxy S Duos owners are not satisfied with the performance. Initially the price of the dual sim droid was set to Rs. 17,000. It never took off just because of outdated hardware. Now Samsung not only included a dual core processor but also supplied 1 GB RAM. GPU is unknown but 1 GB RAM certainly ensures better gaming experience.
Additionally, it’s from the house of Samsung, the leading smartphone manufacturer in the world. In camera segment 8 MP BSI sensor camera records full HD video. In less than 20k you would not get too much of smartphone models with full HD video recording support. In connectivity front HSPA+ modem downloads data at up to 21 Mbps. Also the battery is a 2100 mAh one. The only downside of the handset is TFT LCD display with WVGA resolution. For a 5 inch smartphone at least qHD resolution is required.
