Umi X2 Price in India:Umi Mobiles is now expanding its business from China in India. Umi is already popular for low-cost smartphones. Now the company is planning to sell two brand new smartphones in India viz. Umi X1 and Umi X2. Umi X1 is just like yet another budget smartphone as it packs hardware that we already have seen in Micromax A110 or Karbonn A21 but Umi X2 is packs some out of the box features. Full HD smartphone with 1920×1080 pixels resolution is new to India. Only HTC Butterfly is available in Indian market at Rs 45000 with full HD display. But soon it will be partnered by Umi X2 but the price will be one third or may be even less. Powered by brand new MediaTek MT6589 the beast is built on Android 4.1 JellyBean. Out of the box JellyBean or quad core MediaTek MT6589 is not much of surprise to you as you already know Micromax A116 Canvas HD is coming soon with this configuration. But Umi X2 is supplied 2 GB RAM which increases the degree of multitasking for sure. Till date HTC Butterfly, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are the only phablets with 2 GB RAM. in low-cost segment this is going to be the first.

Umi X2 sports 5 inch full HD display at 441 ppi. Display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 scratch resistant glass. It also sports dual camera. Rear facing 13 MP camera boasts F2.0 aperture. Possibly, camera module is imported from Sony. It ensures excellent shooting. Front facing 2 MP camera is there as well. Li-ion 2500 mAh battery long hours of usage.
Umi X2 equips 32 GB storage. It’s not sure whether there is micro SD card slot or not. But 32 GB ROM is enough in most occasions. It leaves approx 26 GB. In connectivity segment it has Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB, HDMI etc.

Price of Umi X2 is unknown up till now. You can expect it for around Rs. 15,000/- if it comes at any stage. Other 5 inch full HD phablets are Sony Xperia Z, Oppo Find 5, ZTE Nubia Z5, ZTE Grand S, Huawei Ascend D2, LG Optimus G Pro etc.

You didnt mention anything about umi X1. It has jelly bean, 1 gb ram, 720p hd retina display 365 ppi, 4.5 screen, 1 ghz dual core processor, 8 mp rear & 3 mp front camera,G-sensor, magnetometer,proximity, light sensor for RS 9999. This is not available in any of the indian low cost smartphones. It is the best phone at this price.

Earlier we need import it for handset for 12000. But now it is avialable for 2k less. With no hassles of international shipping and customs.

Look spec wise Umi X2 is way better than Canvas HD but I am not too sure about after sales service. In this regard Micromax is slightly better. It has wide coverage of service centers. That’s the only reason to consider Canvas HD over Umi X2.

Umi is a Chinese manufacturer. It’s already popular for manufacturing low-cost handsets. Built quality will be pretty similar. But brand is your preference here. If you compare Samsung vs Micromax, I must admit Samsung is better brand but here I do not see any complicity.
With each passing great handsets in quiet low prices r releasing like d amazing umi x2 .i hd made up my mind to buy canvas HD n now suddenly this umi x2 comes into d picture .what should i do ?the features of umi x2 is tempting me alot .i ws abt to buy canvas 2 den canvas HD GOT released n i hv been eagerly waiting fr 13 days nw .n now cmes d umi x2 .

Well, Gaurav it’s difficult to say anything as more smartphones to come late this year with even better specs. I am totally convinced with Umi X2. No doubt it shows off some classy features in an amazingly low price. It’s better than Canvas HD but the question is after sales service. I do not see any reason to buy it as they may fail to provide enough service if their handsets are found defected. It can happen to any electronic gadget. From that point of view I can say Canvas HD is better choice. In future if Micromax, Spice, Karbonn or Lava can provide service to Umi smartphones it becomes easier to trust the brand. I am not sure how Umi is planning their business in India. One more option I can think about right now is replacement warranty till 30-60 days instead of providing service. Once their ship starts rolling they can increase the number of service centers.

Saw umi x series specification.. Software and processing speed is really great but what about the hardware stuff reliability, durability and toughness of the material… Does UMI even stand somewhere near to the product like Nokia??
Nokia is something different. In my opinion Nokia, Apple and BlackBerry smartphones are best as per as built in quality is concerned. Samsung, HTC, Motorola are also very good but comes in the second tier. You have to consider that Umi is a new manufacturer as compared to the big names. It’s also offering smartphones in amazingly low price. Quality might not be that good if compare these handsets to the high-end smartphones having huge price tag. But not too bad choice when you have tight budget.

I don’t know exact service center locations as of now. Definitely, there will be some. Possibly, 3 months to 1 year replaceable warranty on both Umi handsets.

I would suggest you go for Umi X2 as it has better specs as compared to Canvas HD. But wait, don’t hurry. Soon Umi will list service center locations across the country. You should make sure there is a service center in your nearest city/town. Any electronic device can show abnormal behavior at times. That’s why it’s always better to know after sales service. You may choose Umi based on that. But spec wise Umi is definitely the premium choice.

it supports us carriers like T-mobile and At&T which are GSM carriers so you can use it with GSM carriers also what micromax are you talking about as you can download some apps from playstore which can help you to use wi-fi hot spot

Well, to buy any of these phablets you have to wait for few more weeks. None are available. I would suggest wait and see whether they are opening service centers or not. I think they will be selling their handsets through AndroidGuruz.com. Wait for next update!
